In order to complete the capstone requirement for the Civic Engagement Minor, students must enroll in CIVIC 194 and CIVIC 199/198. The project is expected to integrate and synthesize learning from earlier coursework and previous research and can draw upon the student’s internship experiences. This independent research project is done under the advisement of a UCLA faculty member, and represents a two-quarter sequence: enrollment in Civic Engagement 194, in which the student develops their project; and Civic Engagement 198 or 199, in which the student completes the project. As the culminating experience for the minor, students typically complete their capstone research during their final quarter as a UCLA undergraduate. For more information, read the Capstone Expectations.
